I am participating in Operation Wesserubung (invasion of Norway by Germany). I was wondering exactly which event was scripted based on the writeup in the GWX manual. For example, is the sinking of the Glowworm scripted?

I saw the Admiral Hipper and Schranhost & his twin take off for Trondheim and Narvik respectively. I don't have enough speed to keep with them however. I also saw an enemy task force heading towards Narvik.

Any idea on where / when I should be to participate in the major battles? i.e. defense of Narvik, sinking the Glowworm, fight between Schranhost vs. enemy battleship?

Thanks. I've never seen a scripted event in GWX before and I want to get good seats for the fireworks.:arrgh!:

Yeah the Glowworm is in there
Also the Renown and Scharnhorst\Gneisenau engagement

Probably best to head to Narvik
April 10th First battle of Narvik
April 13th 2nd battle of Narvik

Both times you have Br TF entering the Fjords

Thanks. I've been searching for the glowworm in AF64 but no luck so far. Seems like from the map the Scharnhorst is north of AF38.
If you could give me an idea of where they are, that would be great.
Thanks

A bit off-topic here,Kaleuns.Have anybody of you been to Scapa Flow in 1939?

What ships are stationed there during this period? Are there any juicy battleships like "King George V" or "Royal Oak"?:)

I don't have access to my pc right now (at work) but I'll presume by "all the time" your referring to 1939 :hmm:

Sooooooooo......IIRC this is not the case. I am almost positive you will find a BB at the corresponding time Prien ventured into the anchorage :yep:

Rest assured I'll check it out first thing upon my return home

OH...and BTW most of if not all the details I posted earlier are still reflected in GWX :arrgh!:

"All the time" is supposed to mean entire World War II for stock version.Harbours are empty - let's face it.

And GWX offers plenty of tasteful trophys there beyond submarine nets and minefields.

I am asking because I am still after my first patrol on October 14th,1939 in GWX,technical personell is preparing my lovely Type IXB U-123 for the next duty.

So,my head is full with different ideas - where should I go?Exploit is needed.Scapa Flow,or maybe Bristol,or Liverpool? :D

BdU to U-123... stop... set sail immediately for La Spezia via Gibralter passage... stop... upon arrival prepare for operations in Malta region...

Message ends.

Is the Blücher entering the Oslofjord along with its comrades, or should I skip that?

Also, would it be '''''true'''' (:D) to real life happenings to set sail to Narvik, shoot the TF, dock in Narvik with a 1-day dock time through Commander, and set sail again with full fuel and torps in bays?

Blucher will enter Oslofjord
All 6 invasion TF are scripted

As to docking at Narvik well they did in RL - not sure they would have got fully refuelled and armed but thats a game limitation
U64 was sunk by carrier air attack in the fjords in the 2nd Narvik battle
The first uboat sinking by aircraft of the war
