View Full Version : Error 1607
I am trying to install Pacific Fighters on my computer. but when the Install Shield Wizard tries to boot up, an error message pops up that reads: 1607 Unable to install Installshield Scripting Runtime. Are there any relatively easy solutions to this? I searched on google but none of the solutions seemed to work. This is odd, considering I installed IL2 this morning... Any help would be appreciated :D.

I would go buy IL2-46 and not have to deal with all the silly installations and patching.
I'm buying '46 this weekend, I was just itching for some carrier action :D so I decided I would reinstall PF. I wouldn't care except I'm afraid the same problem is going to happen when I install '46.
I googled it and this result looks worth investigating, fairly clear instructions:
http://consumer.installshield.com/kb.asp?id=Q108340 (http://consumer.installshield.com/kb.asp?id=Q108340)

I've had this problem myself in the past (but with a different game) and the link that's posted worked for me :yep:

I usually had to muckle around a couple of times when installing the Il2/FB/AEP/PF + Patches mess.
In 46 everything is one install.
I downloaded from Ubi Store and got version 4.08. I think you only get 4.08 in North America though.

Sorry, I meant in North American 4.08 comes as part of the Install. I believe Europe has to patch to 4.08.
Issue resolved! Thank you so much everyone. Now I can get back to procrastinating my exam studies. :D
