Hi, I am using ATI tray tools to overclock my old X700 card & speed is up by around 20% and working well, however I would prefer not to have this running in the background as there are already things running & I am trying to free up memory etc.:yep:
Is there a way of setting up the card to run at the higher speed without a running process?
Many Thanks,
Reece.

ATT uses 3.6MB of memory, thatīs negligible. You can save quit a bit of memory by disabling certain unneeded Windows XP services. More information here:

Thanks Gizzmoe, I used to have an nVidia card & you could overclock from the settings menu after making a small adjustment in the register, would be nice to have this with ATI cards, but then this was probably a running process as well just not shown on taskbar.:yep: I do use msconfig.exe and have a number of services unticked such as:
Automatic Updates
Wirless zero configuration
Portable media serial number
Uninteruptible power supply
Smart Card
Smart Card Helper
Will be interesting to see what else I can disable, there is quite a list! How I would love to get rid of the "Sticky keys" process, although I have it ticked as not to use it still comes back to life for some reason! I will report back if I find anyting new to add!
Cheers.

Workstation I do run a network & both access the Internet via ethernet hub & router, so a few of these are probably needed, If you know any that I could be disabled please let me know, I can see that the reply would be quite time consuming so if it's going to be a pain let it go, I certainly understand & I will do some searching on the net.:yep:
Many thanks,
Reece.
