I think I read some time ago this was either solved with 1.2 or it was some copy protection scheme. Are you sure you are running a īlegalī version

It's been officially stated that this exact behaviour is the result of using a cracked executable. Now, I won't point fingers, since I myself used a cracked exe in the beginning, simply because I dislike swapping discs. But after experiencing that behaviour I restored the original exe and while using the disc I've never again had this problem.

So any slowdowns, 2d crew or random number uttering is the result of using a "crack". Restore the original .exe file and that should solve it.

So does SH4 use FADE or something similar as well as SECUROM then? Because I'd much rather not have to go through the somewhat whimsical disc check at the beginning either.

I'm running the download version and therefore have no disc ... my crew and everything else look just spiffy! :)

That'll be a legit Direct2Drive version though.

I was getting the eyeless crew issue for a couple of minutes only, then all came back to normal. Sometimes the copy protection crap leaks to legal owners too.
If you donīt want to use your disk all the time, you can make a 1:1 perfect clone image out of it, and load it using "some tools" out there. no copy protection issues at all.

I'll have a look around and see if I can find them, obviously you're not allowed to give specifics on here.
