Ahoy Kaleuns,
I've just installed GWX 1.03 on my computer after the original SH III crashed back to Windows while trying to load savegames (what a nightmare, was in my 20th patrol, in the mediterranean, superb little convoys, nice calm waters, perfect conditions :damn: ), because I thought I might try out the new GWX features (I had never tried the old mods).
I was playing the marine school before starting a new career, and during the torpedo exam I noticed that I can't fire torpedoes! :shifty:
I targeted one of the freighters, pressed 'L' and striked the 'Enter' key, but nothing happened. Even klicking the 'Fire' button with the mouse didn't help. After several restarts I noticed I can tell my weapons officer to fire torpedoes, that works. But why can't I fire torpedoes myself?
Any ideas?

ctrl+enter or red button
it's done so no torps are fired by accident
.
Try pressing 'Q' first too to open outer doors. Ctrl-Enter is the new fire key. I can tell you I fired a few wasted torps at nothing in my time with that blasted Enter key.
But the button should work too.

If its not your first eel....you are reloaded I trust (sufficient crew etc.) Just a thought :hmm:

Well, after 20 patrols I think I know how to handle the crew and stuff ;)
Maybe Bernard fiddled around the torpedo rooms...
Of course I openend the torpedo doors by pressing 'Q', and I klicked the red button, both in the periscope view (F5) and in the torpedo computer view (F6), but that button doesn't work. :stare:
Okay, I'll try CTRL+ENTER! It's a good idea for safety reasons to add a key so you can't accidently fire torpedos. Well done, GWX-Team. Has this been written down in the GWX manual? I browsed through it but didn't find anyhing regarding new keyboard functions... :hmm:

Maybe Bernard is the WO.
Heh all Jokes aside I like the fact that you need to press a button Combo in GWX to fire a torp or the actuel fire button.
So many wasted torps in multiplayer and career with the enter key.

Red button works for me. Even when I don't want it to and meant to press 'Lock' instead.

I just checked it - CTRL + ENTER doesn't work! I can't click red fire buttons nor can I use my keyboard to fire torpedos
:damn: :damn: :damn: :damn: :damn: :damn: :damn: :damn: :damn: :damn: :damn:
GWX team, is there a file where I can search the keyboard layout and change the entry for torpedoes??? Or has anyone got an idea how to solve the mystery?
I followed the install instructions, made a fresh new SH III installation, patched to 1.4b and installed GWX afterwards. No other mods or anything :hmm:

Do you have GWX 1.03 installed ?
When GWX was first released it was found that torpsdidnt fire with Ge keyboard - as I guess thats what you are using given your location
The fix was first released in a Dec patch
1.03 contains that plus all later fixes
You can get 1.03 from below my sig

You're right, mate, I've only had 1.02 installed. But now it doesn't work either. I can't press CTRL-ENTER to fire torpedoes, but pressing ALT-ENTER works... :hmm:
Anyway, life's easier now for me. Thanks!

"Ctrl + Enter" makes so much sense, I hate hitting the bloody "enter" button and wasting a torpedo lol
