Hi all,

I've just recently purchased SH3 after being a veteran of SH2. I have had a good patrol through the forum and I must say there are some very helpful posts among them. I have to admit, I got caught up in the humouress screen shots for some time, some great stuff in there. (That Bernard....)

I have patched up to and got GWX working, a big WELL DONE to all involved. I am currently on my first assignment (career mode) and realised I should have read the manual re crew management. Poor chaps are exhausted after ALL being on duty for so long.

Anyway, looking forward to happy sailing!

A little late for that, I sit at work and feel the screen is moving around. Still got my sea legs.

One wee problem I am having is with the zoom function on UZO, Periscope & binoculars, it seems a bit hit and miss (not unlike my torpedoes).

As a side note I had been so grossly involved in staying alive I wasn't reading the messages that were coming up. I thought I was being told the enemy were "baiting" us, not pinging. Boy did I take the bate!

Let me tag along with Salad...

I've had SHIII for about a month now, and it's already improved my life: Figuring targeting solutions has taught me more about geometry than I ever learned back in high school. I'm currently trying to master the academy's torpedo exam -- if only those scows didn't try to run away -- and the forum has been a great help to me as a source of speed and AOB formulae, etc.

I've downloaded and perused the GWX 1.03 manual, but alas I'll have to stick with SHIII 1.4 Vanilla until I up my RAM and re-install my video card. In the meantime, while the game runs fine, my crew looks like they're wearing tie-dyed uniforms. I thought that last batch of mushrooms the cook stowed looked a little odd... :smug:

To while away the time in between contacts at 1X time, I'm plowing through Das Boot. Man, that storm lasts forever!
