Im in St nazaire in a type VIIC U boat and I keep getting assignments to patrol grid ET.

Not only is the trip long and boreing as heck but at ahead standard I arrive their with under 50% Fuel.

I have never encountered ships their besides armed trawlers with sonar near the coast.

Is this a bug? or should I transfer.

The game gives random patrol grids which can sometimes be a little puzzling. I'd suggest you use SH3 Cmdr and use the facility in that to assign the grid of your choice :arrgh!:

Like mentioned above,

SH3 Cmdr is a must have

This is funny cuz i used SH3 Commander to change the PQ extra to ET for my U-69 to hunt at the right place for my time of career...
I did'nt dare to try to raid Freeport cuz too many Armed trawlers but a great convoy came out to play with me :yep:

For the fuel problem, try to refuel at canary islands on way back.

But SH3 Commander really is great and a must. You can also use it to make yourself target PQ's in interesting places (like invasion of norway or operation dynamo etc.). It's the perfect add to GWX.

Gute Jagd und fette Beute!

As far as I remember,a certain value for a certain patrol grid may be changed in My Documents/SHIII/Cfg/Data/Campaign/Kaleun's Name/Patrol_0.Just the same way one can change reknown values there.Same rule applies to U-Boat names.:)

But that may be too complicated and bothering,to edit the file just each time you go in for the next patrol.Guess,a managing tool like SHIII Commander might be quite helpful.:D

Looks like the consensus of opinion is SH3 Cmdr then :arrgh!:

Or just go slower. Only when there's convoy nearby, I go over ahead 1/3. ;)

Agreed Dowly and ET in a type VII isn't so bad, and doable if you refuel in the Canaries on the way back now AN84 in a IXb that's insane :damn:

You can find an Aces of the Deep Command Grid Map in my website Enemybeneath. Just look under SH3 and you'll see it highlighted there.

Sorry but you have to put the sections together.
