Hello all Kriegsmarine Kaleuns!:D

I do continue to enjoy this gaming miracle - GWX v.1.03.GWX proved itself being a "no mercy" mega mod - and my old Type VIIB U-47 submarine is already lying on the bottom of Celtic Sea.

But,never mind, life is going on.I started a new campaign in 1939 with 2nd Flotilla located in Wilhelmshaven, and have a wonderfull U-Boat with great history now -
a Type IXB U-123.

However, aware of GWX's AI cruelty I am used to hunt lone merchants, transports and tankers and earn my tonnage this way, rather then going on after convoys. That's for the time being,of course.

My main patrol routes lie around British Isles South to the Celtic Sea and along the Brag's Tanker Alley, and back again to the Celtic sea.

I must say I am achieving reasonable success on those lone kills in GWX.Moreover, third patrol of U-123 gave me 55 000 of merchant tonnage,my best result so far.:D

And for the second patrol in a row,I am observing such a situation in Celtic Sea (BF13,BF15,Liverpool Harbour Approach).

First, you can easily patrol those areas surfaced and sink 3-4 large ships during a couple of days.

Well, after that I leave for the Atlantic and search for tankers and other larger merchants, cargos.

When I'am trying to return to Celtic Sea again - I have already numerous warship sonar contacts and even reports of closing Task Forces.

So,I have such opinion that those ships,I had sunk there lately sent "SSS" reports to all numerous naval bases around there and all this warship movement is a conducted search operation.

Or maybe I am wrong and just frighten myself and these warship and Task Force movements around areas where I have ships sunk are just a regular, normal coastal patrolling?

So,Kaleuns would you help me to clearify that situation? What is all that motion meaning?

I will be very glad to read your personal observations and opinions.

Good Hunting and the Best of Luck to all Grey Wolves of Kriegsmarine :D

Most U-boats didn't make it.

Once a merchant is aware of your presence it will alert the Allies. Any nearby warships and or aircraft will be vectored to your vicinity.
Other than that, what you are discovering in the way of sonar contacts etc. is scripted traffic. :arrgh!:
