Hi all,

A couple of things I've noticed are:

1.) Why do the torpedo control panel lights flicker when in command room view?
2.) The switches on radar panel don't seem to work so I can't seem to get it working.
3.) The button to switch on/off the recharging of batteries doesn't work. I cant seem to stop it from continually charging them no matter how many times I press it.

Also is it possible to run the electric engines on the surface? I'm low on diesel and I wanted to use the electrics for a while to try and increase my range but I can't seem to do that on the surface.

1. The lights on the torpedo tube's flicker while they are being reloaded. Not sure if this is what you are seeing.
2. The radar isn't available until later in the war so if you are in the earlier years it wont be available.
3. Don't have any answer for you here...

To add to GTHammer's:up:

1.) Game feature.
2.) Also, you have to add these to your sub when available or they will not work.
3.) Do you have the mod that changes depressed buttons to green, this may be your problem as well.

Last question:hmm:

No, but don't worry: you can make it home even without any diesel. I had this happen when I was on my way home and realised I had been going Ahead Flank since my last crash dive (damn aiplanes). This meant I was out of fuel some 900km off the coast of Australia with a tonnage of about 90.000 (gotta love under-the-keep one-shot-kills on large tankers). So I dived and proceeded at 3knots on batteries, till they ran out. I surfaced and ... SURPISE! The batteries were charging somehow. Speed on surface was 0, speed underwater 3Knots. I would surface on high time compression, wait for the battery meter to fill to 3/4 (I was too damaged for it to fill all the way) then dive and crawl away at 3 Knots. I kept doing this all the way home. Annoying? Yes. Buggy? Yes -- how do those batteries charge? Solar pannels in WWii?! Exploitable? Defenetly!

Happened to me to, and I suppose we can imagine it's comparable to getting towed to port. Without the reprimands min you. ;)

Some of you guys would demand the Coast Guard pull up and offer you a splash or a tow. :)

No this is not a flashing reload light, they just flicker (like the led on your network card does when you are DL'ing something) very fast. I thing it may be a graphical issue with my card. Anyway it's a minor thing - thanks for the reply.

On another note, has anyone ever fired 8 torps at a ship from directly side on at about 800m through to about 45 degrees off one side and had them ALL be duds? I think they must've had some kind of star trek shields around the ship! ALL DUDS!?!?! Time to uninstall and reinstall me thinks....

You sure you arent looking at the lights on the sonar unit ?

Did you take any damage? If you did, it might have damaged your battery capacity. When this happens the game will continue to attempt to recharge a portion that can't take a charge . . . thus making your engines work a bit harder. If this is the case, you should be able to manually stop the recharge . . . but if it's a problem with the button itself . . . I can't help you there.

Well this has occured rather similarly in real life . . . the either all fail to arm, or dive to deep . . . this occurred early in the war. Once they fixed the problem with the arming head . . . the Type XIVs were pretty good . . . but by then the all Electric Type XVIs came out, if I remember correctly . . . which were good because they didn't leave the wake that the Type XIVs did.
