I first joined the Army with the Soviet Union being the next great supposed enemy. Well, we all see how that ended up. However, what many people do not know is that China has a 100,000,000 man active military. Financially speaking China is determining the outcome of almost everything in every market around the world. With China supplying food, goods, and persons to work in every high-tech industry, it is no wonder that even the inept Pentagon has finally recognized what I have been preaching to my former superiors for years. China is coming!
How do I know? Well, I could post tons of statistics, but unless you are blind or live in a vacuum, you would have noted that throughout the past 60 years China has continued to grow, evolve, and to find it can become the power it always wanted to be. I am not religious, but the ancient texts state that an Eastern power will eventually rule the world. What do you call one and a half billion people who live in the most crowded nation in the world? You call them a sleeping dragon. And when they run out of room you must expect an inevitble desire for "elbow room". It was not as if London were so crowded they sent the Colonists here to make more room for the plague-ridden Europeans in the 1400's. No, they wanted to expand.
During the Korean War/Conflict MacArthur had performed a brilliant attack and cut off the North Korean Army right in the mid section. Only one thing stopped him-China. In a stunning attack, China sent hundreds of thousands of troops into the fray and thus the DMZ today.
Now, with advancements in their financial structure and the continued increase in their economic status, China is no longer considered just a pest, but the largest Army ever to walk the Earth. We spend billions invading Iraq, all the while right here on US soil the Chinese have been purchasing entire cites, ports, and let us not forget, that after the 1999 Treaty with Panama handed control of the crucial canal back to Panama, China turned around and bought it ourtright. Now we buy everything from China, even military berets.
I have been watching this sleeping giant for going on 40 years now, even before my 24 years in the Army. I have warned so many people that this nation is the greatest threat to the world in terms of expansionism. Nobody ever listened. I live in California. In the past thirty years alone over 11 cities are now exclusively Chinese. I am by no means a racist. Make no error there. I do not see color. I see the writing on the wall. If 11 cities can completely become Asian in every facet to include the Religious nature of how things are conducted in these cities, then I see a change nobody ever expected. In fact, the Hsi Lai Temple in Hacienda Heights California is THE largest of it's kind in the Western Hemisphere. In fact, houses are listed in Bejiing newspapers for the same cities I am speaking of.
From Alhambra CA to Chino Hills CA, everything in-between is Chinese. If you live in the California San Gabriel Valley you would know I am telling the absolute truth. In fact, in my city, there are three Consulate Homes, all with armed Chinese soldiers walking the perimeter. And right across the road from my townhouse is the largest non-port holding yard for Chinese shipping containers. Over 150,000 arrive each week and then they go out to every store; from Wal-mart to Macy's.
Does anyone remember the Crash of the Stock Market last year? It was a result of the fluctuating Chinese Market. They take our money, but do not buy our goods, hence, the Trade Deficit. And, by any account while we have been chasing our tails with the false threat of Al Qaeda and Iraq, China has steadily been importing "tractor" parts into our nation though the Los Angeles Port. Tractor treads? No, tank treads, and bodies. I am not an alarmist, but a realist. China is never going to be stopped. They have waited for thousands of years, now they have the technology and might to expand.
You don't have to listen to me, nobody at the Pentagon ever did while I was Active. Just look at the bottom or side of anything you buy, you will see the raised words. "Made in China". Hope you like rice and noodles, because of Nixon and other blundering World Leaders, there is no going back. China is here to stay and they will never again allow themselves to be told they cannot take what they want in this nation or the world. I
I am no racist. I see that the Middle East has always been an arena for local tribal conflicts. We made it a war. Now, China sees that the great and powerful West can be beaten by our own arrogance. We have the one thing they cannot make, sell, or ship-land. And lot's cheap Mexican labor to keep their machines running. Don't trust me? Okay, read this book: China Inc. by Ted C. Fishman. Or watch Lou Dobbs Tonight on CNN with his weekly Peace called "Red Storm".
Anyway, "only Nixon can go to China". Even Spock said that. And in any case, why should we go there, they are already here, in the hundreds of thousands. Now it is just a matter of what city they buy next. Their military is not for us, it is to take the Russian oil fields and eventually crush our ill-placed and stategically ridiculous stance in the Middle East. I may have been trained to combat the Soviets, but the only real Communist Superpower left sells us even our newspapers. So, read into this threat how you deem is best for your interpretations, but I can assure you China is coming...
Oh, I am in no way saying we should go to war with anyone over China. But we must recognize them as being an equal, lest our arrogance invite us to taste our own medicine. If we could not win in Vietnam, what makes anyone ever think we could actually beat China? We need to make Peace with them and still stand firm that we need each other. Once one of us thinks we are superior, (As our nation tends to always believe), then armed conflict is always the saddest form of childish action. As baby-Bush saw fit to engage Iraq. Even the armor most of our troops use is Made in China. Nice. So, while we are all BBQing this weekend and patting ourselves on the backs for the long weekend, let us not forget that Dragons and Eagles can fly together in harmony, as long as we do not bump heads. Have a great weekend.

Well written piece, China is very expansionist and clever, keep an eye on her.

"熊瞎子摘苞米,摘一个丢一个。"

China got to where she is by opening up and liberalizing her economy. The Chinese are quite clever enough to realize that an expansionist war would sacrifice what they have gained, leading them to break even at best. The integration of the West's economy with the Chinese (the author's example of the stock market troubles are the best example to date IMHO) is a two way street: they need us and our foreign investments and imports as much as we need their exports and cheap labour.

Chinese defence spending has grown (doubled in the last ten years as a matter of fact) but this is not a big deal yet. The U.S. still spends seven - almost eight - times more on their military compared to what the Chinese spend. They still have a long way to go to come close to the U.S. in defence capacity, and until they can figure out a way to cut off their country and stay afloat, there is no danger of a serious conflict.

Importing tank treads into the U.S.? They are planning to attack you from the inside out I presume? :rotfl:

Quote - "I first joined the Army with the Soviet Union being the next great supposed enemy. Well, we all see how that ended up."

I don't know who the clown is that wrote that, but he obviously doesn't know his history.

The Soviet military threat to Western security was substantial and very real-

(not to mention all those "wars of liberation" the West had to contend with).

Ignoring China's intentions would be a grave mistake.

My dad told me in the early fifty's the chinees are coming soon, he called it the yellow danger. Till now they only sell stuff and food.
The only real danger I see is when they become short with energy.:hmm:

I still remember when everything was "made in Japan" and people were predicting similar consequences.

What else is new?

Sure we'll keep our eyes on the Chinese, the Iranians, and the resurging Soviets under Putins increasingly dictatorial rule, and on Hugo Chavez down there in Venezuela.

But I'm more concerned with Islamist ideologues than with secular expansionists who ARE here in the U.S. and are actively working toward an armed offensive in the U.S.

Thank you Fish for an article I wouldn't have been able to find on my own, another reason why we should check out subsim more often. :yep:

I don't see how China can continue to grow without U.S. influence. They value our managment ideas, they try to imulate our distribution of goods and services without taking into consideration the freedom to worship, the freedom to vote, the freedom to talk back to a government that is made up of mostly well to do communist offical's standing in the gap for all of the poor people of China.

It is written (means the old testament usually, but in this case translates to the new testament) that a large army of some 200,000,000 (that's double the present size of China's army) will desend on Mt Zion in Israel at the end of time as man knows it, but our God will defend His people and destroy them.

China can't do anything with a 100 million man strong army within it's own borders.

Who are they going to fight, the poor people or Taiwan? Bordered by Russia on one side and mountains and ocean on the other borders. They have no one close enough to fight with an army that big, plus if they left their homeland to fight a war, how would they feed an army that big? After a week they would run out of food, unless they won of course.

Did you know that the stock market in China is so popular that the rich chinese hock everything they own to purchase stock options? Did you know that spells the beginning of captalism, buy low sell high?

Did you know that those shipping containers from Asia are not being returned to Asia? That it is cheaper to leave them here and manufacture new ones than it is to take them back, due to the container ship would have to stay longer and reload empties and then unload the empties? We are talking millions of shipping containers stacked on top of each other rusting away in Southern California. They now have a plan to use them as housing projects. lol

Wonderful thing, democracy. You can't do anything until they do something. Or. Better an enemy you can see then one you don't.

But this is exactly the point: even with eyes, some people do not see, whether because of the inability to grasp or because it's easier to stick their heads in the sand.

That is not the point! We (America) can't do anything until they do something illegal. Plinking isn't illegal. We (America) see but because we are a democracy and a free society we can't do anything about it. That's why I said in another thread that Democracy will kill us. I'm not even arguing a point. I'm pointing out a fact of our system.
Whats really funny is that if they were in Afghanistan or Iraq they would have been taken out when first found out but because they are in our own backyard we can't do a thing about it.

How about all the talks that China's stock market is built up too high and may pull a Japan soon? What would that do to the rest of the world?
