View Full Version : 41-45 Career
After being retired after 8 or 9 patrols career after career, last time out I refused all new commands and the USS Snapper and I made it all the way from Jan 41 to VJ day. Has anyone else noticed this or is this just a fluke?
Concerned...:hmm:

What boat are you using?. Do you have the stand alone career fix or trigger maru? Both these mods fix retirement issues.
Its a Salmon and I don't have either of those mods, just patch 1.2. I didn't know that there was a career path patch, I will have to try and find it. THanks fot the heads up.

My understanding is there is a bug where in if you start in a boat that gets retired during the war (like the S class). You will be retired when that class is pulled out of service regardless of which sub class you are in now.
I accepted an upgrade to a "shiny new model" to a Gato boat but have refused all other upgrades. I'm currently on War Patrol #20.
The major bug in the game is when you accept a Balao class before the game makes it available. You'll get transferred to Australia and get retired because it is out of the date range made available by the game. TM (aka FTT) removes this limited range so you can upgrade to your hearts content.

If you refit at a "tender" instead of your home port, then radio in a patrol report you will be given new tasks.
If you radio in with low or no munitions you will not recieve any new orders. But if you re-load you will recieve new orders. It is "tied" to the amount of munitions you have on board.
There seems to be no limit to how many times you can do this so logically you could repeat this untill the end of the war.
It appears to be that way untill you "decide" to head for home port.
Visiting home port once in a while is key to improving your crew faster than you can by patrolling alone. All your weapons and crew performance improve without having to artificially mod them..
