Tyler had once said, "I don't remember saying it to Renee, but I'd have understood if she'd said, 'Yeah, I'm out of here'".

Anybody makes a crack about how he looks, and they'll have a very angry Georgia Peach on their doorstep with a Louisville Slugger.
I like to think I love my Rich that much, and would do the same, if not more for him in a situation like that.
