Despite the couple looking forward to their future marriage, he stepped up to his duty and returned. Five months into his second tour, in December 2004, Ty was part of a patrol convoy in the Anbar province, when a suicide bomber (http://www.michaelyon-online.com/wp/the-hands-of-god.htmprint/) struck.

On Valentine's Day (http://www.1800flowers.com/product.asp?pcode=16155&country_code=0&sc=1001&cc=1001&firstEntry=Y&cloneb=&clonet=) 2005, his mother Becky, and Renee were by his side. They taped a pen to the splint on his hand, and he tried writing the words, "Ty and Renee" on a dry erase board - as best he could. "Well," Becky recollected, "We think it said 'Ty and Renee'".
The doctors then removed tracheotomy tube in his neck - and he asked Renee to be his valentine (http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/life_and_style/article1294008.ece).
Through this whole process of medical recovery and rehab, Renee stood by his side (http://www.worldpressphoto.com/index.php?option=com_photogallery&task=view&id=875&Itemid=146&bandwidth=high) the whole time. Tyler had once said, "I don't remember saying it to Renee, but I'd have understood if she'd said, 'Yeah, I'm out of here'".

Anybody makes a crack about how he looks, and they'll have a very angry Georgia Peach on their doorstep with a Louisville Slugger.

I like to think I love my Rich that much, and would do the same, if not more for him in a situation like that.

(Sorry Im posting so many topics, I just keep finding this stuff :p )
