Yesterday i came home pretty early so i decided to finish the patrol i started 2 days ago.
It was May 1943 and the last save was a bit south of rockall. My boot is a VIIC.
Since it takes my mediocre computer ages to load SHIII (esp. with GWX), i decided to get myself a snack and brew some coffee. While waiting for the coffee i looked into the newspaper i hadn't read yet. After drinking the second cup, in the middle of page 20 i tried to remember what i wanted to do before that...
*bling*
When i arrived breahtlessly at my pc (with a cup of coffee spilled along the way) my boat was still alive!
Hull integrity was at 23%, all flak guns and bow tubes gone, one diesel destroyed, 3 KIA, 1 MIA, heavy flooding and 11 (in words: eleven) planes were circling above my surfaced U-227. :o
I ordered a crash dive to 25m and repaired everything i could, checked the log and the first "plane spotted" message was about 15 min ago.
Didn't know if i should be proud of my tough boat and its crew or if i should :damn: for being that dumb.
I decided to crawl home, awaiting the inevitable laughter of my fellow kaleuns at the nightclub in St. Nazaire. To compensate the embarrassment a little i got one tribal with my last stern torpedo.
With the pre-save tonnage the patrol log didn't look that bad (64k), but my LI doesn't talk to me anymore.
I AM SORRY HANS!
