I've uninstalled SHIV for now deciding to wait. Does RFB correct/fix most of the issues with the stock 1.2 version? If so I'll reinstall. I just don't want to go through all the re-installing, patching, downloading, modding if there's still problems. I guess the main ones for me have been the AI & radar. For now I'm keeping myself content with GWX.

You can read what it adds/changes/fixes from this thread:

lol, yeh... I've seen the lists, but I just wanted a users perspective. Does it still have issues?

Dont know, havent played it. :88)
But I can tell you that there are few things that the modders arent capable of fixing without the SDK.
AI will never get harder with RFB. The mod is focused on realism rather than excitement and the game's AI is actually much more deadly than the real thing, even with the AI bugs that are currently in SH4. The radar bug has been fixed to some extent in RFB although it still has problems in that it finds ships when it shouldn't.
If you want tough AI and bugfixes, go for Ducimus's Trigger Maru mod.

Nah, realisms my thing. I dig the realism. I don't want tougher AI but just, non-moronic AI. Like so they don't try depth charging me when I'm on the surface shooting up the whole fleet with my deck gun.

I installed RFB 2.7 today. I really like it. The Mod fixes a lot of the problems like radar, diesel, battery life, and some campaign problems. I think if you try it you will like the program a lot better.
