New to the game. WOW! What a blast.

I just finished my first patrol and got a Sub pin and Iron Cross. Is there any real way to give them out? Do they give any bonuses to the crew? Please enlighten this lowly deck hand.

When you return, there is a screen that shows medals, promotions and specialities. You give them out to your individual crew members by selecting a crew member and draging the award of the individual. :up:

Playin Stock first then go to GWX? Or usin GWX already?

when you dock go to the filing cabinet to see the crew screen, You select the medal/award and the crew that are eligible for the away will be hightlighted. Select the crewman you want to reward and then drag the medal over his description in the bottom right of the screen.

This will increase his morale, fatigue resistance and experience. The more medals the more efficient the crewman will be.

So it doesn't matter who you give the medals to? Do they affect the whole crew or only to whom you give them to?

My understanding is that medals only affect the person to whom you award them. However, if you consider the efficiency boost to a compartment associated with having personnel who are decked out with medals, then you don't need as many people to make a particular compartment function, and you can rest other crew members more so than you would otherwise. Indirectly then, other crew members arguably benefit depending on how you distribute your crew.
