Give me my deck gun crew!

Got a nice new Gato in my career. Bought a nice new deck gun for it... but no crew assigned to it! Yikes!

A boog in the game? Report it to the Anti Bugs group to clear the Bug in the game.

I had the same problem. I simply went back to a previous save and forgot about upgrading guns until there is a fix!

I manually edited my ACTIVEPLAYERUNITS.UPC file, after the same thing happened to me. I copied/pasted back the crew in compartment 8, the fore deck gun, from a save game prior to upgrading, and that was it - the [crew member] section, the [crew member rank] section, and the [crew member 3D] section, for both gun servants.

Also, later on, I got the dual guns upgrade, and I felt like having crew in both emplacements. Did the same thing, copied/pasted my gun crew from compartment 8 into compartment 7, and that was it - only changed names, as I'm not into clones :)

Think I read in another thread someone with a similar issue, bought a 2nd gun that wasn't stock and didn't show up until the next patrol. Not that that's acceptable, but I'm pretty sure that's what it said.

Crews are only provided for rear mounted deck guns. Strange, but that's the way it is.

I encountered this same problem on my boat. Currently it shows both bow and stern mounting of guns available on the left column, but will only allow me to use one gun on a boat that is capable of two. I mounted a bow gun, but the game doesn't let me man it with anyone. After the patrol, I mounted a stern gun and tried it again, still no crew. This happened to be from the first patrol with this boat, so I can't go back to a saved game and retrieve some data.

Any suggestions?

It may be good to know (from those who have posted here) what version and/or mods are being used. Otherwise, no good use can come from the info in this thread. I have successfully upgraded to a larger caliber gun, changed from stern to bow without a problem. I have not however, tried installing two guns (other than anti aircraft). I'm using the "Trigger Maru" mod.

From what I have read, some mods have changed the availability to a larger caliber and/or placement to later years in the war. This may be a factor here.

I use TMaru and cannot man my deck gun or have stern and bow deck guns at the same time. It is either one or the other. If the deck gun gets damaged one cannot repair it as you need it manned for completed repairs. I am pretty sure this is a game bug and not mod related.

I am not using any complete mods, I had tried a ammo mod. To make sure it wasn't that, I copied all of the original files back over and the problem still exists.
