hi all is there any way to get ALL the bridge crew to leave the bridge in bad storms?? before they get killed?

Not that I know of....But I haven't lost a man overboard yet and they say it smells a lot better out there away.

Submerge below 32 feet is one way. There is no "Clear the bridge" command.

If you are really desperate to do this (there is no good reason though as the bridge crew are not in the slightest harmed by weather) is to drag the active crew into the repair crew slots leaving the active bridge crew empty. You degrade the crew by doing this as they are promoted and boosted by time doing the jobs they are trained for.

For some reason the INTERIOR crew ARE harmed by stormy weather at saved game reload time. It appears that while restoring a saved game the engine checks to see what the weather state is and whether you are on the surface.
I don't yet know what the meters/sec break point is (still testing) but rough water and on the surface will cause all but bridge crew fatigue to be set to a very high level. I have been getting around this by saving game while submerged. This causes the fatigue level to remain as it was before the save.

When you have no bridge crew, you lose some ability to spot ships and planes on the surface (only your command crew can then spot using parascopes) which is not a really good idea. Although you still have radar, some small craft and low flying aircraft might not be picked up. Submarines depended HEAVILY on bridge spotters in the war.

Is that why they are fatigued? :damn: I couldn't figure out why my guys were all worn out after loading a saved game. I'll have to check the weather state next time I load a game.

It might be that, or it might be the watch change. Saved games don't apparently store the fatigue status of the crew members other than the current duty crew. When you load a game that was saved right before a watch change (8, 12 and 4 o'clock) everyone off duty has almost no endurance left, and it will very quickly change over. The duty crew, of course, was already fatigued so they are as bad. If you save after the watch change, the duty crew will be fresh and the others will have time to rest before their shift comes up.

I have tried saving at all increments of time prior/after crew change. While the fatigue hit is more noticed when the crew is already tired (98% fatigue after the restore) I have proven to myself this fatigue hit does not occur at all when restoring a saved game made while submerged. The fatigue level remains at the level prior to the save. Even more strange, the bridge crew gets no hit at all even at the surface leading me to believe the coders possibly meant to detract only from the bridge crew and got the logic backwards.
