View Full Version : Resupplying torpedoes.
Hi there.
I'm new to the SH series and ran across a small problem.
I have run out of the torpedoes during my first patrol. I thus got back to my home base and encountered an anchor dialog box. I clicked "Refit" and immediately got a "Refit complete" message. However, the new torpedoes did not appear.
Am I missing something here?

Refit seems to work a little wonky, especially if your at your home port. I would suggest just ending the patrol since your at your home port anyways, get your rewards and stock back up for the next patrol......
The option of ending the patrol is greyed out.
Greyed out end patrol would mean you are not at your "currently assigned" home port or you have not fulfilled your primary assigned mission. Maybe you expended your torpedoes on non-mission objectives. You should get your torpedoes replenished at non-base refits though. If not, this might indicate your game is broken or a mod is causing problems. Remove mods, and/or reinstall game directly applying latest patch and make sure you use the CD to play the game.

Found out by accident how to resupply torpedos. When you start your next patrol in the admirals office you will see a submarine model on his desk. Click on it and it will take you to a screen which shows torpedos on the left side. (You might have to click on a picture of torpedos on the upper right screen to get there. Once you get to the torpedos just drag each one to its place in the tubes and in reserve. You'll see MK 10 and Mk 14 torpedoes. I think you can only use the Mk 10's with the S boats and the Mk 14's with the other boats. I had the same problem myself and went on a Luzon straits patrol with only 2 fish. (very much red faced). Hope that answers your question:)
Rythin seems to indicate he's not able to "Dock" at his home base (or doesn't know where his home base is) so it would be impossible for him to drag torps onto his submarine. BTY... mark10s and 14s are available for the later fleet subs.

I am having the same problem - ie leave port at mission start with a full load , sink ships have fun - then try to refit after what is invariably a mega schlep to a friendly port. I click the option to refit, the message saying "refit complete" comes up and guess what - no torps, no shells, no nothing
I am going to try the reinstall and am waiting for the 1.3 patch in case it is a game error - but I seem so out of my depth -geddit :p !! - that I wonder if I am missing some other obvious stuff....
Any help?

The torpedoes are there just none in the tubes.
Load up the tubes and hit re-fit again. I think actually all you have to do is hit the re-fit again.
As to the "end patrol" being greyed out you are NOT at your home port. The game is a little lacking in where it notifies you when your home port is changed. Sometimes it tells you other times it doesent.
Here is a discussion on how to find where your supposed to go.. http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=113040&highlight=trick+home+port

if no torpedoes are added to your ship after selecting "refit",try "refit" again, worked with me(some old sh 3 script that worked with the crew manegement there;if you don't find the right guy for the right job go back to the office and try again...)
I had some issues once with that---then I realized that my boat was still in silent running mode.

Oh yea that too. Or too tired from being at battle stations for days on end.
Saving on the surface after cruising in winds over 6 knots will cause a large hit on the crew fatigue when restoring a game.
