GWX crashes after promotion

i promoted one of my Stabsoberbootsman to Oberfährnich zs.
i can load the game but when i start my next mission it crashes :stare: :damn:

anyone have a idea why this is

hmm, according to SH3 commander this isn't possible (at least not when you try it there)
I think this might be a hardcoded bug, I remember from way back playing stock that I tried this once and it ruined the save, crashes and whatnot :doh:, i'm guessing you also let one of your other officers go? otherwise you'd have too many which could be the problem...

But I'm no guru on the subject, I'm sure one of the wise men like Jscones or one of the GWX guys can tell you,

it is possible but not with SH3commander.
the promotion has to be given in Silent hunter itselve with a crew promotion

i liked to see my crew go from sailor to Oberleutenant zs. in stock SH3 and WAC

Promotions must be given before medals are awarded in cases where it changes the level of the crewman.

Example; If you have a sailor rated 42/50 after a mission and you give him a medal, Iron Cross 2nd and that raises his rating to 67/50 he can now be eligible for promotion which would again elevate his rating this time to 67/100.
However, based on the mission being completed he is not eligible so when you run the next mission it can either CTD or when you click on that crewman it could CTD..

The safest way to avoid this bug is to give promotions before you award medals so one not eligible can not be promoted.

i even promote sailors to petty officers (all thanks to the iron cross 2cnd class)

Bugs? That reminds me,even when playing online..If you are beside another submarine,you can't see it's men on deck..another bug,but no crash.:shifty:
