Originally I had started a POLL on the official forum for SH4 requesting that UBISOFT fixes SH4. I was disgusted that UBISOFT had a poll based on their website instead of the product itself.

Anyways I am sure most of you are aware of the similar type topic that Neal started on SUBSIM.com. It is very obvious from Neal's topic that it has received a ton of replies (more than the poll) indicating the need for a 1.3 patch.

Now it seems that UBISOFT is basing their decision (or their need) to create a 1.3 patch based on the poll than any other input.....

I know this could be a marketing attempt to obtain your email address so that they can sell you another product.

However it is important to cast your vote to obtain a 1.3 patch.

It's pretty bad when you guys pay through the nose for a game, most end up getting only half the materials promised, and the bulk of you end up with a game that crashes more often than a habitual drunken driver! You contact them about the missing materials and they expect you to send even more money to them to receive the things you should have gotten in the first place.
Now, to add insult to injury, Ubi-scoff expects you to beg for the third patch (1.3), so therefore, it's pretty reasonable to assume that it will be the last patch, since they're expecting you to beg for it, and the modders are putting out more add-ons and corrections than Ubi-scoff has put out to date. As long as the private sector is willing to correct Ubi-scoff's mistakes, why should they care or desire to put out patches to correct THEIR screw-ups. Needless to say, *I* won't be buying SH4...I'm happily satisfied with SH1, SH2 and SH3.

The very idea that they are DEBATING whether or not to create a patch is a very bad sign. Not only did they sell us a half finished product, but now we have to beg them to finish it. If they cant figure out that a patch is needed then nothing we can say will change their mind. After all, they already have what they need, the money from the games we bought and a lot of reviews that fawn over the graphics and whitewash the defects. I'm missing something here. Who in their right mind would say no to a patch that would make a product, Ubi messed up, better? Why would Ubi even bother to wonder about such an obvious answer? Then again it makes sense when you consider the condition of SH4 that Ubi shoved out of the nest early.

Even though I have yet to buy SH4 I'm sure I wouldn't buy it if they don't do at least a 1.3. In Ubi's shortsighted way at earning an extra buck it seems they don't get that some of us havn't bought and thus Ubi has to earn at least another 50 extra bucks to make up for the extra buck they tried to get by releasing SH4 early. As an ex-advertising writer I witnessed companies fizz out because of thinking like this.

I don't know if anyone of UBI will ever read this.
But I want to write this to all the users of this great forum.
I buyed SH2 and SH3. Great games. Had a lot of fun with them.
I had the chance to try SH4 (with patch 1.2) on a friend's PC.
He (and thiss forum) told me that there were a lot if issues with bugs... but I wanted to see them by myself.
I can't believe that somenone can release a software in such an incomplete condition. I was a network/system administrator in a software house: if someone of my colleagues had released something similar, most probably he would have been fired.
IMHO, the game is unfinished.
I'm not going to buy it.

:ping: Just something small, however; for a new (3 years) subsim guy it is realy anoying.... a: can not move around top of Conning tower on all subs this is a pain when trying to desigante targets manualy ie: Deck / Flak gunners and b: Signal lights from several ships are visable for long distances even when fog / enviro effects are on when in heavy weather or the typical London fog. This also comes into effect as a sprite box (?) when seen from con tower through binoculars looking at a mainstay or even radar mount texture and shines right through it clearly... just a thought. c: Anyone else getting green screens rarely when switching through stations? I have found that Alt Tab corrects this so may have something to do with direct dll?

UBI seems to be making a lot of enemies lately, they relese a game in the WORST operating conditon possible, and don't even care enough to fix it. Some one give me their Email address. I am going to send them one message asking about heir thoughts on 1.3, if nothing comes in a week, they WILL have a new one!

I tired of the revolving around money and not the people anymore. The hell!?

We should all send our games BACK to UBI HQ, with a single note that reads: FIX IT.

At this point, I feel the game is unplayable, I like to go from the very beginning to the end, and at this point, if I start at the beginning, I either get sacked right away, almost (Freemantle bug) or I'm stuck doing the same *******ing mission! (PH Bug) This is unaccept able! how somethings so obvious make it though testing, assuming that actually *******ing happens!

And if testing does take place, then they REALLY need some one to test it with higher than arcade shooter settings!

I am fed up with this kind of Crap! you almost can't buy anything nowadays that actually WORKS out of the box!

I haven't touched the D*** thing in about a month, every time I do get it out again, I remember why I put it away!

If we ever get a patch it would be nice if they would fix the following in their list of things to do.

the camera in the conning tower tilts the opposite of the motion of the boat. When diving, the camera tilts down aftward, when surfacing the camera tilts up Aftward. If you stand facing the ladder to the bridge – you are facing starboard. When diving the conning tower SHOULD appear to tilt downward on your left (which is the bow of the boat) instead the effect is reversed. Noted on the porpoise and salmon classes.

Well, i'm not going to vote on UBI's website.....yes i know, i'm gonna get shot for saying it but here's my reasoning. This is the subsim community I belong to, not UBI's. I've signed the petition in this community. It does carry weight regardless of what some "forum manager" says. I am not going to register with yet another site, hosted by the company that sold me a duff game, and then vote (plead) them to fix the fecking thing.

For me its simple. The product is a duff. They should fix it. If they don't, europe's excellent consumer laws will enable me to return it and get a refund. Furthermore, I will cease to buy UBI products again. Did the same with Sony and have enjoyed life ever since.

I know money is always a factor to any company that makes any product or anyone or anything but the first rule for any business is customer satisfaction!!!

Face it more pissed off people tell others how they feel about a company or product than happy people. So what is more important a Happy Customer or an unhappy one?!

I ran a business for a large Corporation once and your extra pay or Bonus came from not having any upset customers at all and for the largest corporate owned auto repair business in the U.S. to care that much about customer satisfaction is something to speak of! But no way in hell did they see or hear from as many customers as an Internationaly sold softwear company!

So why dosn't the larger company care as much as the Smaller one?!!!
