New to the boards

Greetings all. New to these boards altho not new to subsims, as I played SH3 a lot. I have recently puchased SH4 but unfortunately cant play it on this puter, a laptop with insufficuienbt graphics abilties. I am currently deployed in Iraq so will be a while before I can play it on a real puter, Have one at home waiting for me now to be built, and it will most definately run SH4 thank god. Been reading the boards trying to get peoples views on it and see what the problems are now so I willl know how to fix them should they arise for me when i finally get to play it. The pacific theatre was always my favorite part of WW2 so this is a big plus for me over SH3, alto I loved that game also. Cant wait to finally gte to play it LOL

Hi Renegade-623, welcome aboard subsim mate, a place that should definitely help speed along your return home, as there's always something worth reading on here to help pass the time!

I too have a laptop that will not play SH4 (even though my laptop is pretty new) and while I was initially disappointed that I'd be stuck playing SH4 at home and not on my travels, with the way SH4 is at the moment, you'll probably find SH3 is more fun. That'll be true at least until SH4 starts getting patched up, so don't be too disappointed, it will probably time up nicely with your return to friendlier shores.

In the meantime, keep your head down and good luck.

Well i hope you will be able to play it sooner then later, as its a kick ass game (don't listen to much to the "bug" spin doctors around here :p ) of course there is bugs but stuff is getting ironed out pretty soon.

SH4 is a lot of fun with the patches and the work of our talented modders. Hopefully by the time you get back home they'll have a 1.3 patch out that makes the game really shine.

Hope you get home safely and soon. I too was swept into the whole "bugged beyond a joke" issue but have been playing with hardly a prob for weeks now and all my other games are gathering dust on the shelf. SHIV without doubt absolutely rocks.
