External Torp loading

Does anyone know where the weather setting or what the required weather setting for loading external torpedoes is? I was in almost calm seas and my crew still refused to reload the new torps.

Kind of annoying when you have THREE CONVOYS within 100km's of each other!

I think in real life loading was limited by rough seas but I don't think it's a factor in the game or any mods. Maybe someone knows otherwise.


I had something where I needed men in BOTH compartments to load the externals in one. And I think I read about others having this as well.

Interesting. I had men in both compartments with around 2/3rd's efficiency and they simply refused to move the external torpedoes despite the relatively calm seas. Maybe my definition of 'calm' is slightly off what the game estimates!

Usually externals wont load for a couple of reasons

Silent running ( we have all left it in silent running before :oops: )
Crew fatigue
Not surfaced ( torp pic should be coloured not greyed out )

Also make sure they are going into the spare slots not the actual torp tubes

If you hold your mouse over the torp you have dragged in it should give you a message
ie Not enough crew in Bow\Stern torpedo room
or Time till load xxxx etc

Was active, my crew were alert and fresh, and was definately on the surface. I sat there for two days game time and they didnt switch over the external torps. No status message of torps being moved/loaded either. When I try to click and drag the torp to an internal slot or bow tube, it simply jumps back to the external section and wont budge.
