View Full Version : Now he's considered dead, but consider the source

Bin Laden last appeared on video in 2004. A few poor-quality audio tapes purporting to be of his voice surfaced earlier this year - but it was impossible to say when the original recordings were made.
The First Post: Is Osama bin Laden dead? (http://www.thefirstpost.co.uk/index.php?menuID=2&subID=942&WT.srch=1)
Now they consider bin Laden a goner, but consider the source is from his home country and the French ... However the compelling truth of no contact for three years is an indication of something.
Dead or alive or just waiting for the right moment to become a martyr?

And that article in your post doesn't actually go into his "death" at all.
So if he is dead, does it matter? It seems like this question is turning into "If a tree falls in the forest, does anyone hear it?" Its not as if anyone knows where he is, and it seems to me like the US is disinterested in making a concerted effort to find him.

Yes, I see the two articles are very much alike, but why is yours dated September 2006 and today's May 14, 2007?
The First Post is pointing to a claim that bin Laden died earlier this month, that is the news. Perhaps they just like stirring things up ...
The poll is for what you think ... not for what they think ...

They want us to believe he's still alive, but he's been dead for a long time now.
Stewie beat him up. :p
I wouldn't make any statements about his breathing or anything without proof but knowing him he probably had his corpse blew up to make it kinda difficult. :p
Joke:
Besides if its comming from the French, we know how easy they like to capulate, they probably surrendered after he threatened to blow up there Wine and cheese. :rotfl:

Is that goner or Gooner? Because Bin Laden used to watch Arsenal;)
Seriously I think he's dead, because if he wasn't they'd have used him in propaganda films etc.

Preference polls I can live with. Opinion polls? How the (content edited due to the sensitive nature of the poster) should I know?

He s alive and well, was texting him the other day, seem a bit gruppy that his servant Allahdablahblah had to walk 30miles to get KFC! :o
:)
What is frightening to me is that only a few people know for sure yet it hasn't made a difference in the actions of his followers.

I sent Bernard to visit Osama via Cruise Missile. Launching two fish at our escort in Wilhelmshaven was the last straw. If he isn't dead by now, I bet he's wishing he was.

This has happened before (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Generalissimo_Francisco_Franco_is_still_dead).
If AQ is concealing his death it might mean that they fear the group will splinter with no heir apparent to fill his shoes.

Theirs is a movement of ideology, not personalities. See for example, what OBL's pals, the Taliban, said just the other day (http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070514/ap_on_re_as/afghan_commander_killed_23;_ylt=At1shXIZ4jE3ZfE4YW ZgHpTOVooA).

I think he is still alive,
but his day will come:yep:
Seems like I said this before.
If it's true he needs Dialysis for his Kidneys ... how hard is it to follow the trail?
I think he's on a nice tropical island somewhere with a drink in his hand his toes in the sand and some one is bringing him Virgins... Dont look at me that way...They have the technology to make Virgins as long as his Family has money.

It is completely unimportant if OBL is alive or dead, it doesn't matter for Al Quaeda anymore since many years, and I do not care. If still alive, he is replaceable, even ignorable. For the immediate present (but not beyond), the death of Mullah Abdullah, probably the most capable commander of the Taleban in Afghanistan, is of more effective importance. But he too will be replaced soon.
That's the difficult thing when fighting ideas inside heads: killing fighters and commanders does not really matter.
Indeed, you kill one and there's a thousand others waiting to take their place, Bin is no different, although true, his death or capture would be a definate coup for the Allied forces, but one cannot fight ideas with guns.
