Issues with Fraps file sizes

I'm trying to make a short vid of SHIII gameplay. Fraps is set to half size and the lowest of the three FPS settings, sound is on. The recorded files sizes for even 5min of play are reaching into the 1gb zone. How are people getting thier files sizes down into the 30mb segments?

VirtualDub & Windows Movie maker will reduce these files further.

There is also programs like Sony Vegas & Ulead Video Suite, these allow you to cut/edit your film aswell as recoding the video so that the file size is smaller.

I don't know if all the movie makers around here leave Fraps running all the time, they may just turn it on/off when needed. You'll end up wih loads of clips which you'll need to 'stitch' together.

As danlisa says, if you edit the FRAPS clips together in Windows Movie Maker, or even just bring them in unedited and save them out from WMM, you'll see an option for your choice of file size.
