I've failed at a convoy attack and now I'm at 62% H.I. and trying to surrender. I'm under fire on the surface, but it won't let me "exit patrol" and surrender. What do I do? Seriously, I want to save my crew.

You're gonna die!

There's an option to change your death to a surrender in SH3 Commander if you 'end' while surfaced.
It writes up a little thing about what happened to the Capt.

Not sure you can in regular play.

As far as I recall, surrending is part of SH3Commander. (hopefully someone will be by to confirm this). You die in the game, then when you exit, rollback and see your career in Commander, you can change the outcome to 'Surrendered'.

Though I prefer to go out guns blazing. :arrgh!:

That's odd. So in-game, you can never have survivors?

'Ze Fuhrer vill not be happy to hear of zis request!'

Actually, I've never tried to surrender, so I don't know, but I guess since a surrendered crew would be unlikely to serve you further, it's kind of a moot point. I suppose you could 'roleplay it', and assume that at the point where you decided to stick up a white flag, any crew members alive were likely to stay that way.

In any case, it seems, 'for you, ze var ist over, ya?'

Maybe someone could enlighten us as to other possibilities?

In game you go from being shot to pieces, to seeing your 'game over' stats.

the only way to surrender is to surrnder through SH3 Commander's program

in SH3... your only option is to die

62% !!!! come on, she's got plenty left in her yet!

get below the surface and get out of there.

Even if you are flooding, get out of the cannon fire and start fixing it below the surface! I give you about until 180 meters you can sink before you go down with all hands.

Do it for the Fatherland!!

Uh-huh. My electric engines were destroyed and everything else was blown to bits by the depth charges. I don't think the boat was in any condition to continue fighting. I ended up modifying the records to say that I surrendered.

Pity there wasnt a 'hurled abuse, bottles and spittle at the enemy with their last moments of life' option :arrgh!:

nope, no surrender no retreat,
now in some cases that's understandable if you've just sunk a battleship (or HMS Hood in my case) the escorts might be just a teensy bit upset and will probably ignore you waving Bernhards shirt from the conning tower just for the pleasure of getting a little of their own back. They're unreasonable that way sometimes....:nope:

you can go into neutral ports and get yourself interned for the rest of the war though that is something at least

Surrender? You really want to surrender? Well, that's very easy:

Pick your SH3 DVD and throw it to the dust bin. Then go join the Boy-Scouts or any other "politically correct" social asociation. You have already surrendered:down:

Just joking;)

SH3 makes no allowances for surrender, it's live or die. This was a bit of a gaff when designing.

If you use SH3Cmdr though, you can be listed as surrendered and even get a little story telling you what became of your Kaleun.;)

:shifty:Pssss. I think you can even recall your surrended kaleun to active duty. Shhh

Strange one this :hmm: SH3 only allows you to surrender (through SH3Cmdr) after you die

Ah well....reality can sometimes be a strange experience :rotfl:

ah my bad - thought you had damage but didnt think about that when you mentioned the hull integrity.

Yes if your electrics are shot then there isnt much hope.
Your only option then was to scuttle the boat.

"How do you surrender?"
I think even asking this question gets you kicked off this forum LoL.

Try blowing all tanks and flank speed directly in the side of the nearest enemy ship. You can lighten your load and increase your speed by launching all your torps too :)

Surrendering means taking someone down with you!

Not only can't you surrender, but even if you are Gunter Luth McKretschmer, only living son of Lothar von Arnauld de la Perriere, in the end you are going to lose the war anyway.

Strange game. The only winning move is not to play.

And yet, I still keep playing... :damn:

Ive played since day one. All i have used are the official patches, RUB. NYGM and GWX. The box is like the one you get, when you spot a aircraft or ship. I can install the stock and and trough the patches untill i find it. And post a screenshot.

In single missions, yes, you have an option to surrender. In careers, you don't.
