View Full Version : gar glitch?
after my first patrol i removed my 3 50 stern gun and replaced it with a 4 50 bow but when i did that the boxes for deck gun crew management disappeared. so now basically if i want to use the deck gun i have to manually do it and sometimes thats a pain. is it supposed to be like this?
also i ran accross a freighter on steriods and it wasnt even a large or huge. it was a medium. i started off with a direct hit at a 90 degree angle then surfaced and put 11 he rounds into it with my 5 50 then ran out of ammo so i chased it down and shot it with 2 torps directly in the back but it kept going. so i got in front and hit it directly in front with a torp. then i cicled around and hit it with 2 more side hits and it finally sank....6 torpedoes and 11 he rounds for a freighter? and i chased it about 90 miles away from where i picked it up with its convoy...the rest of them died in a decent amount of time though..

I had this also, I believe a bug. I went back and switched the gun again and my boxes for men reapeared. I did not mess with it further.

The larger they are the harder they fall. I find stern hits are pretty much useless. I always send in 2-3 torps if I'm at a 90 degree to the target. 3 in the side usually does the trick. Try this next time and save your torps.
Welcome aboard!
im on my third mission now with something like a total of ~190000 tons sunk so when can i upgrade to a sub that has a bow mounted 5 50 because i dont like that little toy 3 50 and on the stern is harder to use offensively. also my subs air search radar dosnt work and ship search radar isnt an option :(. which means i rely on watchmen and when its rainy out they suck cause i literally almost crashed into an enemy destroyer before they said ship sited.

Someone already mentioned this in a previous thread. You can change/upgrade the deck gun and then immediately go into the crew screen and assign people to it. This should keep you from losing the crew boxes. Worked for me.

Aslo, depending on the year you start, radar is not available. When you do get it, it is a useful tool as long as you are pointed in the correct direction. No bug and hopefully fix with the next patch.
