below i have made a list of ships encountered by me on patrols, there speeds and rpm, and time observed in scope.
this is sh4 military intelligence,

medium modern split freighter: 29 seconds in scope: 42 rpm: 7 kts.

large modern composite freighter: 38 seconds in scope: 45 rpm: 7 kts.
45 seconds in scope: 38 rpm: 6 kts.

small old split freighter: 23 seconds in scope: 47 rpm: 7 kts.

medium modern composite freighter: 29 seconds in scope: 21 rpm: 7 kts.

medium european composite freighter: 33 seconds in scope: 47 rpm: 7 kts.

coastal composite freighter: 17 seconds in scope: 47 rpm: 9 kts.

medium old split freighter: 26 seconds in scope: 40 rpm: 9 kts.

large old split freighter: 29 seconds in scope: 26 rpm: 9 kts.

shiratusu destroyer: 12 seconds in scope: 71 rpm: 18 kts.

akizuki destroyer: 14 seconds in scope: 73 rpm: 18 kts.
: 22 sec timed in scope: 55 rpm: 12 kts.

takao heavy cruiser: 31 seconds in scope: 42 rpm: 13 kts.

medium old composite freighter: 22 seconds in scope: 47 rpm: 10 kts.

maya heavy cruiser: 41 rpm: 11 kts.

asashio destroyer: 19 seconds in scope: 54 rpm: 12 kts.

large old passenger carrier: 16 secs in scope: 47 rpm: 17 knots.

if you notice the maya heavy cruiser, it does not have a time in scope, this was a radio contact
of an enemy warship task force. this was sweet! i projected its course and then waited in attack position
a couple of hours until it showed up.
it was about 02:00, night black, wind 15 mps, heavy rain, heavy fog, no chance to see the target.
as the task force approached, i heard them in the hydrophones, opened 4 torpedo doors, depth 10 feet.
i began to search the screws with the hydrophones for capital ships.
there were many destroyers, all easily identified, then i found the cruiser screws, slower than destroyer screws
among all the screws in the task force. i counted her rpm, and waited at 61 feet depth, with the hydrophone bearing needle
lain on bearing 343.
when she came near, she was louder, and when i thought she was on bearing 343, i fired 3 torpedoes at her, then turned the bearing
needle to zero degrees, and listened for hits.
all three torpedoes hit, and she sank good. there was no need to record scope time, couldnt see it anyway in the storm.
ill add to this list as i encounter more ships.
