Hi,
i´m about to end my 1st patrol on my carrer, and i remember seeing something about a renown cheat (in .ini files or something).
The reason is im playing 46% realism, and i need $$$ to buy stuff for my sub, and to buy a new sub when it becomes available !!!
Thx !! :know:

My Documents/SH3/data/cfg/Careers/Your Kaleun Name/Patrols_0
Scroll down to the last patrol recorded and change the DeltaRenown to whatever you wish. :D
Additionally, if you have completed the Naval Academy (if not, could be an added incentive to :p) you can give yourself a bigger bonus so that you would not have to change the Patrols_0.cfg everytime you start a new player.
Open:
Program Files/Ubisoft/SilentHunterIII/data/Cfg/Basic
Under Player Renown change Academy Bonus to whatever you wish. :arrgh!:

There is another ever simpler way to Join the Dark Side :arrgh!:
Go to C\Program Files\Ubisoft\GWX\Data\Cfg and open the GamePlaySettings.cfg file. In there towards the bottom you will find the [RealismPercentage]. This is an indication of how the different realism settings affect your renown. Set the ones you don't use to zero and make sure all the settings add up to 100%. Next time you go to play the game you can "cheat" it to make it think that you're playing in high realism settings. That way you will be getting full renown. Make sure you actually play in 99% realism and not 100% as then you cannot exit the mission (you have to dock manually).
Good Luck:up:

The Renown is a gimmick, do you really believe such a system was real in WW2.
Not very likely. ;)

Actually tonnage was the most important element in WWII. This is the one area that NYGM is perfect. For everything else GWX Rules the Waves ;) :D
The name is to sink ships and get the upgrades when needed. Not to go out and sink ships just so you can get renown to buy stuff. Anyway my system is better use dice and put a meaning to the numbers, nuts this is the third time I wanted to get hold of something but on my system our supply ship was sunk by the Allies.
Better luck next time I hope. ;)

And you call that easier than simply typing a few numbers into a cfg file :hmm:

Do we have to be in Port to edit this patrol0 thing....
And well, i wouldn´t care about renown if we didnt have to buy sonars, and other upgrades.... Imagine the story of the sniper who didnt kill hitler cause he was broke

Yes because that way you still have to sink the ships to get the renown. We in the Dark Side don't cheat. We just take what is rightfully ours;) :p
