North americans have bears and mountain lions. South East Asia has snakes. Australia has some of the world's most poisenous spiders. South Africa has white sharks.
And Germany has - ticks.

Got bitten twice as a small boy, with no tick-typical virus infection, but both times the small wound became infected, in one case leading to an extremely painful blood poisening once that almost led to the loss of an arm. Needless to say I hate these little beasts.

Ive had plenty of them wee buggers from the heather on the moors. My dog has had even more. :shifty:
TopTip: To remove them burn them with a match or lighter. This way they let go. If you try to pull them off they oftern lose their jaw or head and that will become infected fast.

Lime Disease is not your friend!
I got them bad at Ft Bragg one time. Or it might have been chiggers.
You have to touch the tip of the match to the back end, and they back out. An army medic removed one from my nether regions using this method. I as very nervous. Luckily, I recovered fully. :)
Pass me the flame thrower and I will stop those little b******ds
And a pump action shotgun for the stinking pigeons. ;)

Heat and fire is NOT recommended, because the pain and agony make them to empty all their possible virus load via their saliva that is pumped through the bite channel (Bißkanal). Better use special tick tweezers that are designed to remove body and head together. One also should not use oil to drop on them so that they suffocate, this, like heat, again make them to unload all their possible virus load in agony, via their saliva.
Schlüpfrige kleine Scheißerchen, ich mantsch euch platt - ALLE!
Get some Guinea hen's around your house, they're loud but you'll never have a problem with ticks, they eat them like mad.

Doh!....here in AZ and in particuliar my area and home the problem is scorpions...and the exterminator went thru all the solutions but best one he said was to "Get some Chickens"...lol....I told him that is probably true but not a practical solution as they are a noisy nasty bunch themselves....but I will take the scorpions over them ticks they look NASTY!
