And the real hard one as well Defending the Reich, I stopped the invasion of Germany and all sides sued for peace. :D :D

PS: I did the Ailed one's years ago.

It may be a old game but I still enjoy this one.

Did you reload savegames or play straight through?

Yeah PG was great, and its a shame they dont develop these kinds of games anymore. It got so far that I even thought about starting development of a new PG, its still on the back of my head ..

That's great!

But how the hell did you get it running on Windows XP? Every time I've ever tried, something was broken. Usually the mouse cursor, but many times the graphics would just completely fudge up and I've have to end the program from task-manager.

Also, do the music and sound effects work for you?

A very belated congratulations to steed. I never could manage to take out Russia, so you have my utmost respect for that.

I also wanted to point out this game:

I haven't played it yet, but the review definitely gives it glowing remarks and has certainly piqued my interest. Sometimes there's just nothing better than a solid, turn-based wargame.

I played PG as well (playstation, loooon time ago). I like these old hexfield cosims. I still run Steel Panthers MBT, have SPWWII in reserve (but not installed), and also have TOAWIII (but somehow do not seriously get into it).

Heads up to everybody that "World in flames" is slowly but surely approaching the end of it's long developement. They really have mapped the entire globe.

I am silently monitoring this project since it was announced. I will not necessarily be in the first wave of customers, but once I see it has reached a reasonable and stable state, I'll get it. I have good hopes for it, and wait for it with excitement.

I miss the old turn based games:cry: .

for giggles I reinstalled Panzer General (the very first one)
set compability to '95

I have no music, but the sounds works!
the mouse is slow, and is a bit anoying as soon you hit the edge of the screen it shoots to the other side of the map.

but still...It got me hooked again!

I have Panzer General and Allied General both on Playstation. I played some PG2, as well as Pacific General, but never owned either.

I didn't really like Pacific General:shifty: I had won several battles ( controling points, destroying stuff), but the enemy had more points, therefore won:shifty: . The campaign would end at that point.:damn:
