I've read in a couple of threads where people were pulling in to different bases to "top off" their fuel tanks befor heading off to their patrol zones. I've never tried this, but may need to in my current patrol.

I am ordered to patrol off the Philippines, after disembarking from my home base in Brisbane. It's a long haul, and wanted to "top off" in Tulagi befor proceeding. When I enter Tulagi, is there an option to refuel? Will it still be the same date when I leave, or is it like SH3 where it's a few weeks later after you dock with a resupply ship? Any advice welcome. Thanks.

You will get a refit option. This gives you an instantaneous top up of diesel, gun ammo and refills any empty spare torpedo racks. (It does not fill empty tubes, so be sure your tubes are all loaded before arriving at the depot ship.) No game time passes. In real life, subs topping up at Midway, when outward bound from Pearl, were there for 4 or 5 hours, weather permitting.

Just close to within ~30km, and you'll get the "refit" option. Crank down your time-compression if the choice doesn't pop up.

Inside this 30km radius, you can go to your nav-map and refit as many times as you want. Click the icon in the upper right corner.
