I havent picked up a single air contact with my so called "improved" SD radar on my Porpoise. I didnt realize it until I got jumped by two fighters that crippled my ship.

On another note, I was stuck on the surface but my end game had me with a funeral, but the last time I sunk to 1400ft and was magically retrieved and given a promotion...go figure!

Anyway back to business...so is the radar bugged, I cant seem to turn it on my self at the radar station. I dont mind getting killed and I honor them with a new career, but i wont accept this one if they got the jump on me because of a glitch!

Whats up with this, did the Devs break the SD radar to keep it from picking up surface contacts?

SD radar is air search
the way i figure it, patch 1.1 air search detects ships and planes

patch 1.2 SD detects nothing :)

there is a mod to fix some radar issues but the downside of using it, is that it lets air search radar detect boats too.

so SD radar either is useless. or overpowered..I dont know wich one to choose :) im sick of planes hitting me out of nowhere because my air search radar wont pick them up under patch v1.2

but then i dont want to have enemy ships apear on radar, because i dont have that kind of radar fitted. on my 42 boat.

My temporary solution was to reduce the range on SD radar to 10 meters, and increase the max height on SJ radar so it can detect planes. That way 1 radar does it all, and i can turn the bugger off when the spam gets annoying. With SD radar not working properly, theres no point in having it in the game at all.

I use FFT 2.4 and by having both SD and AJ radar installed, the turning off/on works no probs either by clicking on the command panel or by pressing the 'R' key.
