crash while on Pause

I was running a war patrol today and had to leave the computer for a few minutes, so I put the time compression on "0" to pause the game, When I returned I was back at Windows with the low level graphics display. does anyone know what the cause and cure is for this crash? Thanks! Joe S

Dont pause ?

If I have to go away for any length of time I do a save and set TC at 1.

Chances of anything of consiquence happening at TC1 are pretty small.

If I have to go for a few hours I save and exit.

I have not run into this but I do like Steamwake, let the game run at TC1. Not much will happen unless you decide to get up while in the middle of a convoy;)
