A married couple were reported saying - "Wow the earth moved for us."
I know we have lots of very minor ones but for us this one is big stuff.

Yeah, sorry about that guys. Curry.
mmm, not the first one in the UK. Birningham got shook up in the 90s and there was another in the 70s.

Is it really? The only earthquake I ever was in was in Hungary, and it was in the scale of 5. Might not have been in the epicentre, but it didn't feel that much of a deal.
And you must realize that the Richter scala is logarithmic. 5 is ten times stronger than 4.

Yer, Yer, I know.
I meant it is big for England. We get hundreds of quakes below 3, occasionally farmers feel feel them.

Below 3? I guess thats like those we get every week, when they blow up some **** in the quarry nearby.

Yer, people do report quarry events as earthquakes.
3 on the richter scale feels somewhat like standing on a platform whilst a fast train passes.
Yeah, sorry about that guys. Curry.
I told you to stay off the curry, look what you done.
I just spoke to a friend who slept peacefully through it!:rotfl:

Obviously he is guilty. There is no other incentive for him to feign ignorance.
Slept through it... yeah, right.

serious Earthquakes in the UK are a rarity as we are not on a tectonic plate boundary.
Apparently it was felt up here too, but I didn't feel it, I was still asleep at the time!
Heard the old Hemel Hempsted explosion though, that managed to wake me up alright!

I just read something that said one 30-year old woman had a minor injury but no-one/nothing else was hurt/ seriously damaged.

Funny thing I live near Hemel and I never heard it. Earplugs are great blocking out noise.
