Interesting:

THis one is also interesting:
Mobile phones have also been mentioned as possible sources of interference. On one flight, all GPS receivers on a plane stopped working after someone had used their mobile handset mid-air.

We shall see. I doubt they will lose the crown though. I still have little use for dual core, though I do use 2 CPU's at times. One factor I notice more than anything else, especially with video encoding is even if I set the affinity to 1 for one app, I still have the issue of HD BW regardless that I have as fast a RAID as I can make at the moment. To simplify it, pop in SHIV even while limiting my encoding app to a single affinity, and the HD issue still gets in the way. Having quad core will be a worthless addition to the computing scene as far as I can see.

PS. I guess I can use BeSweet on 4 cores at once to encode audio tracks for videos a bit quicker. Still this is not anywhere near a compelling reason to have quad core.

See if I am to get a new PC what do I get AMD or Intel Duo?
At the moment I have a 3.2 Ghz Intel CPU my MOBO can still take another 3.5 GB of RAM. My 200 Gig HD is big enough for me and I could upgrade teh GFX card if I want. The only thing I might need if I put in a better gfx card is a new PSU as I only have the standard 330 watt one that came with it.
I think my PC is good to go a for a little while longer yet.
More reason why GPS should not yet be certified as a primary navigation aid.
As for mobile phones several aircraft already fitting picocells on the fleet and the first live services allowing mobiles on board should be live this summer.
