Sweetheat? Children? Pet? Friends? Classmates? Workmates? Boss? Last murder victim? Or, goodness forbid, yourself? Post pictures of your office and, more important, the picture on your desk here, as well as any other changes you may have made to the textures (I'm planning some changes myself)!

Myself, I've got two classmates and good friends of mine with me when I plan patrols behind my desk (pic' is taken outside my school - that's the backside of historical Bryggen in the background;)).

My current one is far less stretched, but not black-and-white.

For those who don't know how to change your desk picture, you need to replace the TGA file picture in the Data/CaptainPicture sub-directory of your SH4 folder. Although the original was in TGA format, the replacement can be a JPEG file instead, but I've not yet tested other formats. The pic does not have to be shrunk to fit the frame, the game does that for you. Just reailze when cropping it that it has to fit the frame, otherwise it'll look stretched and ugly (like in the pic' above).

The cat fits in ever so nicely.

I used to have my Gordon Setter on the side of the conning tower.

As for the grumpy Hardcore Skipper... man, I hope he's not a close relative! Looks like something that might kill you in your sleep for not playing on 100% realism and a dozen realism mods:o.

[Note to self: Everyone's posting pics of celebrities and cats. Am I the only one with friends?:p]

I switch them out. I've got one with the kids, one with the wife and kids, and a handful of movie stars from the 40's.

I put the kids' pic up when they're hanging around, and when the wife is hanging around, I usually put up one of the ladies. When she's not looking, I've got her and the kids.

That is one of my favorite shows. Al Bundy is my hero!

I've got the other half. It's bad enough I spend hours "just looking at a damn map" without actually having an alternate piece of crumpet on my desk.

I miss SH4 Commander. It could easily have randomized pictures for me. Oh well. I was one of the people who never properly thanked JScones. One reaps what he sows:cry:.

I went with Kate Beckinsale as Ava Gardner from "The Aviator".

I'd watch her read the phone book...

What's with everyone and Betty Page;)?

Oh, and Rhode's contribution is the most awkward one so far. That smiley must look mighty weird all stretched out, and seems to me an odd choice anyhow. But oh well, to each his own.

I've a rather saucy picture of my girlfriend which I converted to sepia for that 40's look. Makes the return to the office much more enjoyable

Maybe some later patch will add the ability to click the Captain's picture to see it up close, and add a button so that you can change the picture while in-game. Not exactly a priority, but it'd introduce more players to what that thing really is. I'd still be wondering if it wasn't for this forum, I think:oops:.

At the very least, a tool-tip should be added saying something like 'CAPTAIN'S PICTURE - change this picture by replacing picture.tga in your Data/CaptainPicture folder'.

Wow, still going strong, that's cool.

I've just looked on IMDB amd see that he was Mermaid man in SpongeBob SquarePants for several years. That must be where he developed his love of all things sub-aqua!

Come on, people, post your offices.

Photobucket is a very good file hosting choice, as it allows pics to be placed directly into threads with no image restriction, unlike ImageShack.

I was given the Grayling as my first command and I went looking for info on it. It turns out:

Grayling sailed for Pearl Harbor on 17 December, arrived 24 December, and had the honor of being chosen for the Pacific Fleet change of command ceremony on 31 December 1941. On that day, Admiral Chester Nimitz hoisted his flag aboard Grayling as Commander, Pacific Fleet and began the United States Navy's long fighting road back in the Pacific.
