Ever had a mission you couldn't do?

Well, for the record, I have Maltese heritage (immediate, last generation) and when I was playing I was cruising around the med when I got the message that the Santa Marija convoy was coming down. I was within fairly close vicinity so I ordered all ahead standard and was within range of Malta rather quickly.

I ordered Rig For Silent and waited...waited...waited until I started getting the convoys sound signatures. I immediatley ordered PD and upped scope, fixing my position and lining up a destroyer. I could nail that baby easy, it was a matter of hitting the button...but strangely I couldn't do it, I was unable to hit that button. Why? I don't know but something stopped me.

I downed scope and headed to back to Britain.

My question is, have any of you ever had that experience?

No, I've never hesitated to fire at a Canadian ship. Fact is that if I were gonna have a problem with any of this it would prevent me from playing the whole game. I mean we're out there killing people right?

Maybe if the boat had a giant Canadian flag painted on it.:cool: Maybe. But then again that flag didn't exist back then. Oh well. I guess the Canucks are boned.

Just yesterday, saw a convoy escorted by a polish destroyer, I had recently read a wiki article about a polish destroyer surviving the whole war and being the only ship to ever recieve the highest decoration a country can give, sort of a polish version of the Victoria Cross, for the ship itself. I decided not to sink it, although this would have been easy, it going so slowly, I decided not to mess with history :hmm: and sink the auxilliary cruiser instead, also more tonnage of course :arrgh!:

The other day I went on my first liner... a beauty around 18K tons... when I was watching him slowly going under sea, all in flames, I turned to my wife and tell her I was actually wondering about how many babies were on the ship :hmm: . She expressed some anger :lol: and I laught a lot :rotfl: . It s a game mate, nothing more :up:

i am a nazi child. so it would be a bit normal if i just go ahead flank to a ship (merchant or warship) and blast it out the sea with the deck gun and torpedo's.

but i never cared about the ppl becouse... THERE ARNT PPL IN THE GAME.
if it did then you would see life boats and other ships picking the surivors out the sea... you cant even see the dead you burry at sea... thats ashame :shifty:

mayby some of the modders could make such a mod. it would be more than fun becouse it is realistic then.
