Reaching the patrol area

G'day,

SH4 recognizes when you reach your assigned patrol area with a message and the yellow star turns gray.

I'm finding this is only happening if I leave port and go directly to the assigned area and engage no enemy ships on the way. If enemy shipping is engaged on the route to the patrol area, when I finally reach my assigned patrol area I get no message acknowledging I've arrived and the yellow star remain yellow.

Is this a bug in the program or is this the way SH4 is designed to work?

To complete a Patrol area objective you need to stay in a 100 km circle around the "star" on the map for 48h.

It doesn't matter what you do before you get there. Sinking ships just adds to the total tonnage and renown gained.

Remember, there's a bug where the star only changes color when the map is "redrawn". Zoom in and out a step periodically while waiting for it to change or you won't see it change.

Thx very much for the info; I will watch this much closer ensuring to stay in the area for the noted time and zoom the map.
However, as I said I'm also not receiving official notification( message ) I've reached the patrol area, additionally when I save the game the next window telling me types of ships and tonnage thus far, indicates "Incomplete" for reaching patrol area.

I will create several careers and watch this in detail.
