Captians Log issue ???

I am currently having problems with bringing up the Captians log. Whenever I press the button to open it up, my game stops for a very long time > 10 minutes. Once it does appear the game will returns to normal, if I select a different tab then again another 10 minutes of wait time. Does anyone know why the game is doing this ?

I have tried the following:
setting the game priority to high under task mgr.
selecting only recieved messages ( this helps sometimes but not always)
turning off other programs in the background
defrag of the HD
lowering the game settings

Can someone please assist me?

I had this too but once I installed patch 1.2 it got a lot better. Have you tried installing the patch? If you already did then I'm not sure whats going on.

Some just click on the clibboard and up top you can change it to message received only. This reduces the loading of the clipboard as it drops your sent messages. There is also a mod for reduced radio traffic/contact reports that helps emmensly. Find it at the mod forums.

Thanks for the input. Right after my post I had discovered that the "Savedata.rmr" file holds all the clipboard info. I had deleted around 185 different log entries and then saved and re-entered my saved game. It worked and everything opened up instantly.

I was aware of filtering out the messages by only displaying the recieved messages and it worked only a few times, however the amount of time to even get to the point of selecting it was still very long.

The 1.2 patch does not seem to be working all that well, at least not for me in this regard.

My next step is to look at the traffic/contact mod for a more useful solution than having to constantly delete data out of the log file.
