Playing Career mode and on about the 6-7 patrol and

Recon Yokohama- Complete
Deploy Gilbert Islands- Complete
Engage and Destroy Enemy Merchants- Complete
Deploy to Solomon Islands- Complete
SEnage and Destroy Enemy Merchants- Complete
(Notice how they spelled Engage)

After all this I cannot End Patrol. I’ve tried numerous bases, it just won’t let me.

The only things worse than the million planes the Japanese have (don’t know how we won the war) are the nagging message box that keeps telling me I’ve completed my duty ( my mother didn’t nag this much).

Took 7 and I mean 7 torpedoes to sink a Fubuki Destroyer.

They took some of the good thing from SH3 and tossed them and they added some things that are full of bugs at best.

If they can’t get this Series right by the 4th time, they’ll never do it. They had a nice game and turned it into a mess, it will not go on my shelf, it will go into the garbage can.

They released a product that wasn’t ready and that is a disservice to their customers, a bug or two ok, but this mess should be an embarrassment, except they are laughing all the way to the bank. I will never spend another dollar for their products.

Well for a game that's a joke, and apparently fit for the garbage can, by your own admission, you appear to have been able to complete quite a lot of missions without too much trouble.

In short. Go to the gramophone player in your submarine, and put another record on. This 'my life is over because a program which attempts to simulate one of the most complex machines in history in the world's biggest ever conflict has got a few errors in it' moan is getting a little tired.

The Tipperary song, bitte. :D

Hyperbole aside...

Have you received confirmation that you have completed your original patrol objectives?

Did you radio in to receive new ones?

Sounds like a valid complaint.

Started as a valid complaint...turned into another rant.

Oh, I almost forgot: Before it goes in the garbage, send it to me. I still can't afford a copy.

Naww...I think that's how many of us feel. I'm not trying to say that developing a game like SHIV is easy...it's definitely hard work. I'm not trying to say that the graphics aren't stellar cuz they are. I'm saying that mechanically the game is NOT finished. I would have GLADLY waited another 9 months and gotten a finished -- polished product. Not this beautiful clusterF*$k.

If I could place a number on how complete this game was. I would say 75%. So think about that folks. We paid full price for 75% of a product. That really get's me steamed!! Not to mention that we paid good money to be beta testors...BUNK!!!

Typical scenario for non-com sub captians.
Step 1
TC over here ----------------------------------------> Kill Kill Kill
Step 2
TC over here ----------------------------------------> Kill Kill Kill
Step 3
TC over here ----------------------------------------> Kill Kill Kill
Step 4
TC to base, arrrg no can get point base closed.
TC to another base, arrrg, same thing.
TC here TC there TC everywhere. ARRRRRG.
Where’s my FPS when I need it.

Yes as I put in my note everything says completed as well as sending report after report. I appreciate your question.

As for the few that think I ranting I don't feel playing in the career mode and making it until mid 1943 and not being able to finish a game is ranting, as for the people who consider my comments ranting you probably think going through the same grade in school year after year is doing something special, also the guy that wants me to send him my copy, try getting a job that way you can pay your own way. Then when they advertise a game but say it's about 3/4 ready we'll see if you'll throw your money around after you've worked for it. @yellbird

What John Channing said "Did you radio in to receive new ones?" :yep:

Three times so far ( 1.2 patch ) I've been about 1/2 to 3/4 ways to my patrol target area and have came across some delicious enemy tonnage useing up all my torps. as soon as I was cleared of all remaining guard dogs ( DD's ) I radioed home ( Fremantle,Australia ) my status which reported my sinkings and also my empty torpedo racks. Not wanting to go to said patrol area again I jusk asked to "End Patrol" when I entered assigned base and had no problem reloading the Sub. All you lose this way is about 200 renown ( or close to that figure? ) for not completing the patrol. ;)

First question - what base did you start from? remember that some bases - manila for example - are captured = so you cant use em. When this occurs - you get a popup telling you where you next base is. If you missed it - then you may have to travel to other SUB ports - the one with anchors = until you find your new home.

To the poster asking about the "engage" mission - its you need to sink a certain amount of tonnage once you get that mission - I think its like 10k or so...

Now - personal attacks on others - are not only against forum policy - but are rather uncouth to boot. You never know - a crack like you made may have been aimed at a guy working 2 jobs to feed his kids - and he decides its more important to feed them than get a new game - if that was the case would he deserve your cuts? You never know. So treat others with a modicum of respect if you want the same returned to you.

As your still looking for help - that game isnt in the trash obviously. Its a good game - with lots of problems. State your issues - but bashing - personal or not - wont get you much help around here.

Many here will do what they can to help - just be clear on what your issues are - but try not to be so negative, eh mate?
