Noble Manta in Med : World largest Anti-sub exercice

Ten NATO nations will provide 8 submarines, 11 aircraft and 8 surface ships to take part in Noble Manta 07, the world’s largest anti-submarine Warfare (ASW) exercise from 12 to 22 April 2007.

Eight submarines from Germany (1), Greece (1), Italy (1), Netherlands (1), Spain (1), Turkey (2) and United States (1) are scheduled to join the exercise.

"Noble manta" - that means something like "edler Manta" or "großzügiger Teufelsrochen" in German. What wannabe-poet is figuring out such an operation code-name? :)

All anti sub execrice in Med are designed by Manta, then you can add the prefix they want: virgin, drunk, idot, , etc....

For informations there is also an exercice in Scotland (22april-8may), the only female member of the DW team at MS is going here to sink subs with the crew of here Atlantique 2 antisubmarine plane.
