Why will we not regret it? What have you seen to make it better than 7.3?

I swear everytime I finally get around to updating drivers they come out with a new one the next day.

I hated the last 2 revs and went back to 7.1 - they were unstable.

This release was posted up yesterday :D
I downloaded them last night. No effect on SHIV. Seem the same as 7.3.

The Release Notes didn't mention any SH4 specific fixes for that matter:

3DMark03-GT3: Display corruption is no longer noticed when running the application on a system using an ATI Radeon X1650 product. Further details can be found in topic number 737-27069
Call of Duty: Setting AA to either 2 or 4x no longer results in display corruption or the Vista operating system failing to respond when using an ATI Radeon X800/850 series of product. Further details can be found in topic number 737-25523
Dungeon Lord: Minor and intermittent display corruption is no longer noticed when playing the game with CrossFire™ enabled. Further details can be found in topic number 737-27070
Prey: Using the mouse to maneuver around the game screen no longer results in corruption being noticed. Further details can be found in topic number 737-27077
Tribal Trouble: Launching the game on a system containing an ATI Radeon X1900/1950 product and running Windows XP no longer results in the game failing to load and the operating system failing to respond. Further details can be found in topic number 737-27076

Well there's still hope for 7.5; afaik the issue has been submitted to ATI`s customer feedback some time ago.

Is there any setting I need to manually change at the driver level for SH4?

TY!

damn, i can't confirm my own observations...:damn:
Everytime i fire up a mission itīs bad weather now and my map is horrible broken.
Also i'm little short on time now, will try a sreeny later.
But i know what i've seen, the lack of bloom is very annoying for me and i carefully watch the sun in game after every gamepatch or driver update.

....
It was there, yes, i swear iīve seen it aaaaaarrrrggg *running around crazy* :rotfl:

Damn, itīs gone.
Can't get it to work anymore, sorry for waking false hopes maybe.
Iīll try to reproduce the effect late.
I had just installed the driver without changing anything
in the drivers or game setting and it was there, i swear...:shifty:

I changed once some graphic settings, as I looked at the sun, the bloom was there for a fraction of a second! and then disapierd. I couldnt reproduce it. But it was there and it looked like SHIII`s sun. In SHIII it shows up nicely. Strange:hmm: and a shame, because the rest looks good. That was with cat 7.2 BTW.

maybe the sun bloom is weather dependant ?

This was noted in a thread a while back. Bloom is there for a second then fades. I've seen this.
