please need help with starforce and SH3

Ok I originaly bought this game back in january of 06 through direct2drive. I had fun playing it, but my computer was not the best to play it on. Then about half way through 06 my hard drive died and forgot about SH3.

Now 2 days ago I just built a whole new computer, so I redownload the game and it has starforce on it. I dont remember SH3 having it back in 06.

SO is there any way to play SH3 by going around starforce, now that its on my computer?

Starforce is installed/run everytime you start the game from the CD.

You can find the Starforce removal tool here - http://www.onlinesecurity-on.com/protect.phtml?c=55

This tool will remove the starforce drivers from your system, however, each time you start the game using the CD then they will reinstall again, so you need someway to remove the need for a CD.:hmm: Try Google.

Not too sure about the download version, as Starforce is basically checking that you have a authorized disc present, I assume that there's no disc to check on a D2D download. Strange.

Also I cant even play this game because it asks me for a serial # which I would think is the key that direct2drive gives me. But at the activation web page it says that the key is not in there database.

:hmm: Either contact D2D and ask them about this in an email or there was a generic key released by UBI, you will be able to find it on the SH3 UBI forum or on the UBI Support Site.

Just FYI, SH3 is in most bargin bins these days and can be picked up really cheaply, keep your eye out for one, having a disc is far better than having a download.:up:

Go with Danlisa advise. Find it at a bargin bin for $10.00. As much as you will be installing mods and reinstalling the entire game you will be happy you got the actual disc:yep: Please visit the thread below and sign up for a patch release concerning this very matter. I bought the digital version last year and now the key code does not woek and DD can not help cause they say it's a problem with ubi and starforce. I just have to wait until they resove this. last time I buy from D2D

Yep, D2D is a poor substitute for having a CD. If you have read all I have written above, you might find a way to run SH3.:yep:
