I do not have much experience so far with radar in SHIV. It was never a problem in Sub Battle Simulator or SHI, which are two ancient subsims. However, SHIV seems to take a giant step backwards in terms of the state of the art. The "switches" that control the range have no markings, and do not move. The "On-Off switch" does not move, and the menu bar at the bottom of the screen is the most useless and user unfriendly abortion I have ever seen in any sim to date.
So far, I have been unable to hit the right combination of buttons or whatever to turn the thing on and keep it on. It flashes on for a second then quits, even after hitting the so-called continuous sweep button. I get radar reports from 100 feet down or more.
Is there such a thing as radar depth? and if so, can someone please tell me what it is?
It appears from various other posts that others are experiencing some problems but some people are not. If there is a secret to all of this, can someone please help me out? thanks!
As for Ubisoft, you win, you got my $50 and I did not get my $50 worth . There will NOT be a next time. Joe S
