I'm not seeing anything in the documentation which would lead me to expect a performance or feature boost in this game at this time on XP Pro and X1950.

I'm hoping it might fix the SH4 Overdrive problem.
...but, I'm not holding my breath.

unfortunately, it doesn't look like it. I have to believe, based upon my tests under XP and Vista, that this has got to be an issue with the way SHIV handles the 3d environment. ATI doesn't see the switch and, as a result, doesn't change the clock speeds. Unfortunately, since it'd likely take a major revision to the graphics engine to change, we're going to have to depend upon ATI to address this in a future driver revision.

What's wrong is discussed here:

I'm willing to tweak and fiddle with drivers and overclock to a point but, at some point I just want it to work the way it's 'sposed to. Not to mention al the folks out there who aren't comfortable messing with there system.

I tried repeatedly to get the overclocking running last night (Vista-32) and didn't have any luck. I'm guessing that ATI and MS haven't figured out a way to address the speed switch. :(

The new drivers wil probably not give you a noticable difference but, they might. Driver updates can improve your FPS if they tweak the code but, often they address specific issues, or make chnges that matter more to newer cards that the bugs aren't worked out for, or fix drivers for new OS like Vista... At any rate, it's fairly safe and usually recommended to update to the latest drivers - but, sometimes they break something else and another game doesn't play nice - you can always roll back or reinstall an older driver in that case.
