I'm on patrol, when I get a cryptic message, "Operation Hartmut has begun". Very nice. Task forces hurrying north, so I swing around Norway, only to find two of our Battleships en route full steam. Here's a picture:

I proceed to the Narvik area, I get a transmission "Proceed to Narvik" (I was already almost there), but nothing. I looked up the operation in "das Buch", but it's not mentioned - at least by that name.

Any ideas? :)

It is. I did a little searching of the forum and found out some things. The other name "W-uebung" makes it easier. Thanks!

Edit: Another pic of either the Scharnhorst or the Gneisenau (what names!)

Operation Weserübung was the invasion in general, I think Hartmut was the name of the u-boat operations in it.

Nice pics , shame there was nothing at Narvik.

Hartmut was indeed the screening operation for Weserubung carried out by the U-boats.

As for the big ships I once again had a nice sail past Tirpitz in Wilhelmshaven yesterday, plus this time the Hipper and a commerce raider. Nice but BdU probably wondered what I was doing sight-seeing at the the start of my patrol ;).
