What was the workaround to get more variety?

AHHHHHH...somone else that keeps getting the SAME patrol over and over and over....

I was on patrol 11 out of Pearl Harbor....off the S coast of Honshu for the 11 freakin time. I finally gave up and took an S class out of the Phillipines.... I think Im going to wipe SH4 completely out and reload with new patch.

Anyone else have any ideas on the "repeat patrols"???

No Idea, but I keep getting the same patrols too, finally gave up and started new career.

In real life, the subs didnt have the luxury of restarting a career. They went where the bosses told them. I suspect they probably had "repeat" patrol areas.

Nothing is making you do the missions. Go where you want. You only lose out on a few hundred renown is all. No biggy.

I've had this too! What I do now is complete the objective an don't report in untill I'm out of torpedoes. This allows me to go where I want after the objectives complete. When I'm out of torpedoes I report an head home, it works for me.

I don't have any problems with taking off and doing what I want, but I have yet to have any of the pilot pickup or commando drop missions, and if all I wanted to do was patrol I could be playing SHIII.

I have just done 5 identical patrols of agent insertion to Osaka. Going to load 1.2 and start from scratch. Also, I havent been able to transfer from pearl to anywhere else.

Every time I start a career from pearl I get sent to the marshall islands, and find nothing to sink...

I give an area about 5 days of patrol. If it is dry I make my way to other areas to patrol. Smart money would look at the map that shows known shipping lanes:yep: Head there and make your own party. SUBCOMPAC does not give you a hard way to go if you do not patrol where they ask. You only get a few hundred renown anyway. Go find your war Skipper!!!

My favorite flotilla is the Asiatic fleet. Many different area of operations, narrow straits and shallow waters.
