I've tried it but had trouble getting into it, downloading it to try it out again now. :D

Edit, dang this games pretty fun, got my a fletcher atm, (yhey) I've named it the Triarii... In this one battle I charged straight at a Yamato and got the finishing hit on it.:rotfl:

if it wasn't for torpeoes I woulda got myself 2 CV's also :arrgh!:

The only probelm with it is that auto aiming sucks and Manual aiming is a pain in the freaking ass.

I just happend to stumble upon this game, does it have an offline MP mode? Or do I always have to go up against other human players?

Just bumping this up since it's the biggest and most recent thread I could find on it.

This game is pretty damn fun, I've been playing it consistently for nearly 2 years. It's free to play now (you don't need a subscription, but leveling time increases considerably if you don't), but like other Korean MMO's it tends to depend a lot on micromarketing (buying individual items in-game with money to improve your performance). It doesn't have submarines or anything like that, plus torpedoes do ridiculously little damage (still more than anything else in the game, but it will sometimes take over 20 torpedoes to sink a battleship), but if you like grand engagements between capital ships, this game can be pretty fun to even just watch.

It just had a massive balancing patch applied to it last month or so, which IMO really improved the gameplay, but there's still a lot of bugs and imbalances that are still getting fixed. For now I really wouldn't advise buying anything from it unless you're willing to put some serious dedication into it, but if you really like it, by all means buy a subscription.

(BTW, if you do decide to try it out and want to put me down as a referrer, my ID over there is lordkelvin, same as here but without the space)

-e- Oh, before I forget, if you don't want to mess up on something that might affect you later in the game, go to www.nf-guides.com and read up there before going too far. It has a lot of really good explanations about the game, and certainly beats the default game manual, which is insanely outdated.

I have the same question. What is the cost of play? Or is it free unless you plan to purchase upgrades . . . or is it based on a monthly pay system?

You can pay or play at your own pace. You don't actually need a subscription to play, but you'll level up fairly slowly. Alternatively, if you really want to be competitive, you can purchase upgrades for your sailors or buy special ships that perform better than usual. If you want to be really really competitive, it can drain a fair amount of money to upgrade your crews.

OK . . . just downloaded the thing . . . dag gone, it appears to be harder to engage in this game then in a good fighter-sim and even SH4.

Any tips . . . and why don't the gunners automatically target the OPFOR when it is in range?

OK . . . lvl 32, got my US DDX (DD3) with Dual 6" mounts. But that CL1 Atlanta cost an arm and a leg!!

I need some assistance though. How does one fire only port or starboard T mounts? How does one fire the 20mm AA alone? And does anyone have spare Credits on the New York Server that they'd like to give me?

Just cruising around here and saw this thread.

JALU3, to answer your questions, Z and C will select port and starboard respectively (I think) and those nice 20mm AA guns fire automatically. You'll notice that when a plane flies by there's little silvery dots flying in the air, that's your automatic AA at work. You'll also notice that they miss 95% of the time.
