I picked a name for a submarine I admire quite a bit and I can't even get through the first tutorial. Great! I hit f3 to plot the course but I keep running into land. I plot a straight course to the designation but it doesn't seem to work. What am I doing wrong? First of many questions and all answers will be very much appreciated. The knowledge base here is amazing!!!

On the compass icon in the lower toolbar there is a return to plotted course button try that incase you have changed course manually.

if u keep hitin land then come out of harbour manually. Its safer. Also if u plot a straight course just make sure that there are no islands in the way! No worrys this was also a common SH3 problem to RIP the GREY WOLVES:arrgh!:

I remember my first patrol in SH3. I opened map, zoomed out and placed a waypoint outside Kiel harbor and clicked. I expected a trained AI helmsman to know how to miss the docks:oops:
