I started a new career and on my first partrol I accidentally came across a very large task force in very bad weather.

Solution:
Sneak in and wear the task force as a hat. After knocking off a few carriers and cruiser I surfaced and caught up to finish what got pasted me. But I bet those destroyers are a bit pissed.

It had 3 rows with 3 ships each surrounded by 15+/- destroyers.

I got up close to each ship and set torps to low speed and contact hammer. Arranged angle of attack plus range which it wasn't really far because of the fog. Fired, watch, reload and repeat!

I must have gotten lucky with the torps because I did have maunal TDC and dud torps on with realistic reload.

Cool. On my first patrol I saw a task force and chased it around for a bit. I feel like I didn't deserve the tonnage I got from it because the whole thing started moving 1knot for no apparent reason and stayed that way. Free kills, destroyers never even got close to finding me. I dunno I just feel kinda lame about it.

I made it home, I sunk another medium tanker on the way home.

I know what you mean, they couldn't ping me for some reason, and I kept seeing them shoot star shells and alot of them.
